However, on issues such as pre-emptive war, ANY kind of gun laws, and especially any act that might condone homosexuality, she finds her members unwilling, unable or just plain scared to jump in the deep end. I heard a young minister take a bold stance on accepting people wherever they are -- that homosexuality is not a sin, and that if it is, Jesus would have told us so. He told me he was nervous, but that God just "wasn't giving him a free pass" on this one...that is was heavy on his heart. I pray for my former church. It has a long and rich tradition. However, I am thankful to be member of a church that openly reaches out to all kinds of people in love, not requiring them to come to us and jump through hoops to hang out at our church.
