In the Roman Catholic world, we have similar theology that comes through the Franciscan tradition (which is kept in perpetual tension with the sin/debt theologies that are similar to what you would find in Protestantism). It's definitely a minority viewpoint, talked about in hushed whispers by contemplatives and not shared widely with the general Catholic population.
